Minor: Geography
Student Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from this program will:
- Students can identify geospatial tools and technical needs to solve problems relevant to geospatial research, industry or public service.
- Students can design, produce and interpret geospatial data using relevant technologies.
Academic minor offered in Geospatial Science (18 hours). At least nine of the hours needed for the minor must be taken at UMKC. The minor is sufficiently flexible to enable students with diverse backgrounds to choose relevant coursework from the relevant offerings. The programs are structured to ensure that students gain an appreciation of the breadth of the minor field. The minor should be declared as early as possible, but not later than the beginning of the student's senior year. Up to eight hours of coursework may simultaneously count in both the major and minor areas, where applicable. This applies to majors and non-majors.
